Project Overview

The GMU MIS 491 team provided Simply Gray research deliverables for configuring interactive solutions for investors to be able to track, investigate and access to current housing portfolios whereas homeowners have the ability to upload their property, submit request, track and update housing cost. The Client's Needs included an appropriate database solution and a plan to develop or outsource each segment of a consumer facing app that can process transactions, receive payments, run credit, and background checks; accounting, display trends, automated maintenance, and schedule; and generate a property valuation in real time for both investors and homeowners. The GMU MIS 491 Delivery included a recommendation to develop a Progressive Web Application (PWA) to expand reach, convenience, and safety for users. To bring efficiency to the end-to-end process, the team analyzed the processes that should be developed by the client and those that should be outsourced to third-parties to increase reliability, and reduce development time and cost.

Client Testimonial
"All in all, the students were responsive to our needs and recommendations throughout the program. Their ability to communicate their findings improved over time and we're satisfied with the results. The students have helped us to frame our project introducing many elements that we have not considered such as database requirements, the importance of both the front and backend capabilities, and non-technical requirements. Thanks to the students and their work, we will have an easier process working with developers."
