Summary

Alex Campos is a student at George Mason University entering his senior year in the School of Business. He is majoring in Information Systems and Operations Management with a minor in Business Analytics. At GMU, he has found a passion and joy in data analytics and statistics-based business processes. Alex is currently enrolled in STAT 362 where he is learning the ins and outs of statistical packing tools like R and SAS. His hobbies include dancing (specifically latin dancing), longboarding, writing, weightlifting, and martial arts (specifically Muay Thai).

For his Business 200 class, he had the opportunity to travel to several cities in Italy and the United Kingdom. In his words: "We got to see how globally they interact and function within their communities and on the world stage, helping to give a better apprecitation for other societal business customs. In Italy, small and local businesses are king with the majority of stores in Rome, Bologna, Venice, and Modena being local chains or family owned. These small businesses, like the olive oil and balsmaic vinaigrette being protected business under the law. Unfortunately, this is changing as tourism brings more people from abroad to these cities all over Italy and global corporations are taking advantage of that. In London, they have an a very similar system to us here in the US with corporations holding a lot of sway and market power. But because London is such an ancient city, many guilds and family-businesses still operate and are protected by the law."

Class Experience
"I had two foundationally important MIS classes with Professor Ngac and I truly consider him to be one of the best teachers I have had thus far in college. If you want to slack off and barely get a C in class, well then that's on you. If you want to delve deeper into the source material than what is covered in class and find real-life applications for material you are learning, then he is more than willing to provide the resources and assistance to do just that. Both my parents have sung praises about what I have learned in Professor Ngac's classes, saying that these skills and concepts are so crucially important and make me, as a potential employee, stand out that much more."
